Phenolic Film & Polyolefin Faced Slip-Resistant Flooring Plywoods
We offer a range of anti-slip plywoods with a variety of face coverings, each offering slightly different characteristics.
These panels are used extensively in the manufacture and repair of vehicles and flight cases, the installation of stagings & disabled access ramps. They are used for any application where a surface is required to be slip-resistant.
Plywood offering these characteristics is available in a wide range of thicknesses and sizes, and we can also offer panels that are cut to size and machined/profiled to your specific requirements, while still keeping a surface that is non-slip.
Plywood with slip-resistant characteristics is supplied from the mill with sealed edges and it is highly recommended that any subsequently exposed surfaces are fully protected using an exterior acrylic paint, in order to ensure that the boards are able to offer the longest service time possible.

Phenolic Resin Faced Non-Slip Plywoods:
These slip-resistant plywoods are produced using a high-quality exterior birch plywood core that is coated with a hard-wearing phenolic resin, offering a variety of different wear patterns for appearance and in some cases particular end-uses. Each pattern is available in different weights of resin, offering enhanced wear-resistance as the amount of resin bonded to the surface of the plywood is increased.
Carat Pattern:
This antiskid plywood has a raised pattern consisting of thousands of small raised diamond shapes, which very effectively distributes point loads, thus reducing the bearing stress on the face veneer, improving the shear strength of the face veneer, and allowing it to bear heavier point loads.
Additionally, the small diamond pattern makes the surface slip resistant, while remaining extremely easy to keep clean.
This anti-slip plywood coating is available in standard dark brown colour and also in grey.
Crown Pattern:
During the manufacture of this non-slip plywood a 10mm diameter slip resistant raised circular pattern is hotpressed onto the film surface. Each instance is surrounded by six others in a repeating hexagonal configuration, while a standard mesh pattern is pressed onto the reverse as standard.
The raised slip-resistant pattern maintains its anti-slip properties under a wide range of climatic conditions and is therefore an ideal material for demanding flooring applications.
This slip-resistant plywood coating is available in standard dark brown colour and also in grey.
Diamond Pattern:
A repeating diamond pattern (approx 30x8mm) is hotpressed during the manufacture of this anti-slip plywood, which has been specially designed for the vehicle and cold storage industries. The surface is hard with good impact strength and resistance to abrasive wear and water penetration through the overlay is minimal.
The surface coating is resistant to most common chemicals, dilute acids and alkali and is easy to keep clean.
This non-slip plywood coating is available in standard dark brown colour and also in grey.
Floor Pattern:
This form of mesh plywood has a wide, open mesh pattern pressed into a heavy phenolic resin covering, offering a high degree of anti-skid properties.
It is used where excellent slip-resistance properties are required in applications that do not require the surface to be easily cleaned.
This anti-skid plywood coating is available in standard dark brown colour and also in grey.
Hexagon Pattern:
During its manufacture, a hexagonal slip resistant raised area of approximately 10mm in diameter is pressed onto the film surface of this antiskid plywood. Each hexagon is surrounded by six others in a repeating hexagonal configuration, with approx 2mm margin between it and its nearest neighbours.
The raised slip-resistant pattern maintains its anti-slip properties under a wide range of climatic conditions and is therefore an ideal material for demanding flooring applications.
This skid-resistant plywood coating is available in standard dark brown colour and also in grey & black.
Mesh Pattern:
The most widely-known pattern of slip-resistant plywoods - this can be supplied on birch plywood and also beech or combination cores. Increased resin thickness (define by the weight of resin per m2) used on the face offers improved slip-resistance and makes the panel more resistant to surface damage.
This panel is widely used where a slip-resistant finish is required at a competitive price.
This mesh plywood coating is available in standard dark brown colour and grey, with red, green, yellow & black available to special order in pallet quantities.
Polyolefin Faced Non-Slip Plywoods:
These slip-resistant plywood panels are produced using high-quality exterior birch plywood that is coated with a hard-wearing polyolefin (polyester) covering, offering a range of different patterns. These panels are environmentally friendly, as the coating does not contain any chlorine derivatives, and is taint & odour free.
These exterior plywoods are overlaid with a slip-resistant polyolefin surface coating, unless otherwise agreed, in colours that offer the ability to match vehicle wall panels, while offering good wear resistance properties and high colour stability (6-7 according to din 54004).
Lozenge Pattern:
This pattern is a series of very small diamond shapes, approx. 2x1mm, with approx 1mm between each diamond.
The slip-resistant surface coating is a 0.7mm thick grey polyolefin surface coating and the panel is supplied with a smooth polyolefin balancer to the reverse, unless otherwise agreed.
This anti-slip plywood coating is aAvailable in grey (RAL 7001).
Auto Pattern:
The surface of this non-slip plywood is covered with a series of circular areas of approximately 3mm in diameter. Each raised area is surrounded by six others in a repeating hexagonal configuration with approx. 4mm margin between them.
The slip-resistant surface coating is a 0.2mm thick grey polyolefin surface coating and the panel is supplied with a smooth polyolefin balancer to the reverse, unless otherwise agreed.
This anti-skid plywood coating is available in grey (RAL 7001).
Step Pattern:
The surface of this skid-resistant plywood is covered with a checker pattern of approx. 7mm square, that is turned through 90 degrees with approx. 2mm between each patterned area.
The slip-resistant surface coating is a 1.15mm thick black or grey polyolefin surface coating and the panel is supplied with a smooth paper balancer to the reverse, unless otherwise agreed.
This slip-resistant plywood coating is available in black (RAL 9005) and grey (RAL 7010).
