Lumber Products
Thermally Modified Timber
Thermally
modified lumber
is produced by taking high-quality raw timber and subjecting it to a kilning process
especially designed to remove the resins from within the wood's cells. The resultant
lumber is a much more dimensionally-stable raw material than naturally occuring
materials.
The main result of this process is that the thermally modified timber produced is much more resistant to damage & movement due to high moisture.
This process can be applied to softwood (sawfalling and knotless grades) or temperate hardwoods (such as beech), and both offer environmentally-friendly alternatives to the exotic timbers, while also having the added benefits of being much more stable in use and also offering a much lower cost.
This product is excellent for use in a wide range of applications, and it is safe to use next to water, as there are no chemicals used in the process.
- Thermally modified softwood in both sawfalling and knotless grades treated with eco-friendly systems for durability and stability
- Thermally modified hardwood using temperate stands such as European Beech to replace tropical timber species
- Dimensions & lengths produced exactly to your requirements
- Available using European redwood pine and whitewood spruce
- Material that is clear from any face defects possible
Hardwood Lumber Products
Whether
you require hardwood lumber machined to your exact specification, or a composite
hardwood product such as an engineered flooring produced exactly to your design,
we can provide this for commercial quantities. (These quantities are generally a
minimum of a single mixed trailer, but it may be possible to supply smaller quantities
of some products in certain circumstances).
In addition to hardwood lumber products, we offer hardwood edge-glued panels & worktops, oak throughout plywood, maple throughout plywood, and a range of veneered panels & doors that can be produced using over 250 veneers.
- A wide range of temperate hardwoods
- Raw materials machined/cross-cut to specific pattern
- PEFC Certified & FSC Certified raw material available
Softwood Lumber Products
Our

Laminated Pine & Finger Jointed Lumber
Finger-jointed
lumber products are produced for applications that require a defect-free lumber
product. This can be supplied by jointing pieces of high-quality, defect-free lumber
in order to achieve the length required. If the cross-section requried does not
allow this to be achieved in a single thickness or width, two or more of these composite
lengths are then laminated together in order to achieve thickness and/or widths
required.
In order to achieve a good solid bond between one component length and the next, the ends of each piece is profiled with a finger joint pattern as can be seen above. In fact, the joint is so goods, it is stronger than the original lumber used to make it, and special laminated & finger jointed blanks manufactured to the customer's specifications are regularly used in the manufacture of highly stable joinery.
These products can be supplied in a variety of species, although they are mainly requested in European redwood pine and whitewood spruce.
- Dimensionally more stable
- Defect-free lengths possible
- Dimensions & lengths produced exactly to your requirements
- Available using European redwood pine and whitewood spruce
