Agba Veneer
Agba
is also known as Achi, Egba, Emongi, Tola Blanc, Tola Branca and N'Tola. It grows
in tropical West Africa from Nigeria southwards to the Congo basin, scattered or
in local pockets, favouring deep soil and plenty of moisture.
The 10cm wide Agba sapwood is not well demarcated from the slightly darker yellowish to pinkish brown heartwood, which darkens on exposure.
Agba veneer grain is straight to slightly wavy or interlocked and the texture moderately fine and even.
The lustre is high and large resin deposits may accumulate in shakes near the heart.
