Castello Veneer
Castello
is also known as Brazilian Olivio, Costello, Avorio Olivato, Maracaibo Boxwood,
West Indian Boxwood, Agracejo, Palo blanco and Zapatero. It is usually found on
dry chalky or rocky slopes in northern Brazil, Dominican Republic, Cuba, the Maracaibo
Lake region of Venezuela and eastern Colombia.
Castello wood has a contrasting olive and golden cream colour, and is used as an alternative to Olive Ash Burr or Olive Ash long wood where a contrasting appearance is desired with less underlying grain.
The texture is very fine and uniform, with a generally straight grain. This wood has a high lustre, and odour & taste are not distinctive.
