European Cherry is found Europe and Lower Asia as a wild growing tree, which can generally be found growing alone in mixed forest stands. Currently, the main source of this wood is France.
European Cherry wood is warm and reddish orange in colour, often with slight green streaks, becoming more and more attractive and warmer in time.
This is an excellent and very exclusive veneer wood used by the furniture industry and for interior fixtures. It is a popular parquetry wood, also held in high esteem in the piano industry. Because of its texture and pores European Cherry veneer is excellently suited for polishing.
