Paldao Veneer
Paldao is also called New Guinea Walnut, Lamio, Dao, Damoni, Dorea, Loup and New Guineawood. It is widely distributed in Southeast Asia and the Southwest Pacific Islands.
Paldao sapwood is wide, pinkish or greyish and clearly demarcated from the heartwood, which varies from light brown, greyish, greenish yellow to reddish brown, often with irregular dark brown to nearly black banding
The grain of Paldao veneer is straight to interlocked and irregular and texture moderately fine to coarse.
The wood is lustrous, without distinctive odour and a decorative figure is present if quarter cut.
