American Black Cherry Veneered Panels & Jointed Veneer
American Black Cherry is also known as Cherry, Wild Black Cherry and Wild Cherry, and is found in the eastern half of the United States, from the plains to the Atlantic Ocean and from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico. It also occurs in high elevations in Mexico.
The sapwood of American Black Cherry (which is narrow in old-growth trees) is light yellow and distinct from the heartwood, which is brownish with a greenish tinge, darkening to a warm, rich reddish brown colour, with a distinctive golden lustre.
American Black Cherry veneer grain is generally straight and the texture is fairly fine and even with very good machining properties. The wood has a mild aromatic scent.
